Enabling Backups

This guide explains how to enable backups for your Make scenarios.

Prerequisites

Before enabling backups, ensure:

  1. You have configured your Make API settings
  2. Your scenarios have been discovered and synced.

Enabling Backups

  1. Navigate to the scenarios page
  2. Find the scenario you want to back up
  3. Toggle the switch
    • enabled: Backups are active
    • disabled: Backups are paused but not deleted

Backup Schedule

When backups are enabled in Bitmule:

  • Backups run on a regular schedule (every 24 hours)
  • Each scenario is compared with the previous backup for changes
  • If a change was discovered, the backup captures the complete configuration
  • Previous versions are retained according to your subscription plans retention settings

Viewing Backup Status

You can monitor your backups in several ways:

Scenarios Page

  • Last backup run date and status is shown for each scenario
  • Hovering of the i icon will show you the last date a backup was taken

Backups Page

  1. Navigate to the Backups page
  2. Select a scenario from the dropdown
  3. View all backup versions and their details:
    • Backup
    • File size
    • Visualize, download and restore options

Logs Page

The logs page shows:

  • Backup run history
  • Success/failure status
  • Error messages if backups fail

Best Practices

  1. Enable backups for critical scenarios first
  2. Monitor backup logs regularly
  3. Test restore functionality periodically
