Backups
Enabling Backups
This guide explains how to enable backups for your Make scenarios.
Prerequisites
Before enabling backups, ensure:
- You have configured your Make API settings
- Your scenarios have been discovered and synced.
Enabling Backups
- Navigate to the scenarios page
- Find the scenario you want to back up
- Toggle the switch
- enabled: Backups are active
- disabled: Backups are paused but not deleted
Backup Schedule
When backups are enabled in Bitmule:
- Backups run on a regular schedule (every 24 hours)
- Each scenario is compared with the previous backup for changes
- If a change was discovered, the backup captures the complete configuration
- Previous versions are retained according to your subscription plans retention settings
Viewing Backup Status
You can monitor your backups in several ways:
Scenarios Page
- Last backup run date and status is shown for each scenario
- Hovering of the i icon will show you the last date a backup was taken
Backups Page
- Navigate to the Backups page
- Select a scenario from the dropdown
- View all backup versions and their details:
- Backup
- File size
- Visualize, download and restore options
Logs Page
The logs page shows:
- Backup run history
- Success/failure status
- Error messages if backups fail
Best Practices
- Enable backups for critical scenarios first
- Monitor backup logs regularly
- Test restore functionality periodically
