Troubleshooting Configuration

Resolve common issues with Bitmule configuration settings

API Key Issues

Invalid API Key

  • Symptom: "Invalid API key" error when saving
  • Solutions:
    1. Verify the API key is copied correctly with no extra spaces
    2. Check if the API key is still active in Make
    3. Generate a new API key if needed

Missing Permissions

  • Symptom: "Insufficient permissions" error
  • Solutions:
    1. Check that your API key has all required scopes:
      • scenarios:read
      • scenarios:write
      • teams:read
      • organizations:read
      • user:read
    2. Generate a new API key with the correct permissions

Base URL Issues

Connection Failed

  • Symptom: "Could not connect to Make API" error
  • Solutions:
    1. Verify your base URL matches your region exactly
    2. Check our Base URL Guide to find your correct URL
    3. Ensure no trailing slashes or extra paths are added
    4. Test the URL in your browser to verify Make is accessible

Wrong Region

  • Symptom: API requests fail or return unexpected results
  • Solutions:
    1. Check your Make account's region in the browser URL
    2. Update your base URL to match your account's region
    3. Remember that region numbers (1, 2, etc.) are significant

Organization and Team ID Issues

Auto-Detection Failed

  • Symptom: Organization or Team ID not automatically detected
  • Solutions:
    1. Verify your API key and base URL are correct in Bitmule
    2. Ensure your Make account has access to the organization/team
    3. Try refreshing the page after saving API key and base URL

Manual Entry Required

  • Symptom: Need to manually enter Organization or Team ID
  • Solutions:
    1. Find your Organization ID in Make's organization settings
    2. Find your Team ID in Make's team settings
    3. Contact your Make administrator if you don't have access

General Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Check Error Messages

    • Look for specific error messages in the toast notifications
    • Error details can help identify the exact issue
  2. Verify Account Status

    • Ensure your Make account is active
    • Check you have the necessary Make subscription level
    • Verify you're not hitting any API rate limits
  3. Clear Browser Cache

    • Clear your browser cache and cookies
    • Try logging out and back in
    • Test in a different browser if issues persist
  4. Check Network Connection

    • Verify your internet connection is stable
    • Check if your network allows HTTPS connections to Make
    • Try from a different network if possible
